The turning point bottle

Most serious wine drinkers can recall that special bottle wine that was the tipping point that began their obsession. For me, it wasn't a single bottle but repeated tasting of the same wine. It was the 1987 Napa Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon. The local grocery chain sold it for $4.99. Our friends Patricia and Stuart "forced" us to repeatedly try wine over many occasions and this was one of the more common bottles. After I had begun to develop my palate, I recall buying more bottles of that Napa Ridge and commenting on what wonderful dark fruit and spice flavors many bottles had.

Thanks Patricia and Stuart.
